Since the beginning of the Formula One Championship in 1950, the name Alfa Romeo has been associated with the sport. In the modern age, the team previously known as Sauber mixes Italian style with Swiss practicality.

Peter Sauber led his namesake club into F1 in 1993 after having great success in global sportscars, where he mentored future F1 stars Michael Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen.

Since then, the team has been a regular of the grid, winning races under BMW’s short ownership and earning a deserved reputation for not just manufacturing competitive cars but also for nurturing the careers of up-and-coming drivers.

2021

They drop to ninth place, behind Williams, with former champion Kimi Raikkonen responsible for 10 of their 13 points this season before retiring from F1. Make room in your 2022 lineup for former Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas and up-and-coming Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu.

2020

Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi finished the season in eighth place overall, with a grand total of eight points. The team’s best results came in their home event of Imola, when both cars scored points, and in Turkey, where both made Q3.

2019

Even with Kimi Raikkonen’s vast expertise behind the wheel, the C38 is frustratingly unreliable, slowing down progress. They sit at P8 in the table, with 22 of their 57 points coming from the exciting last round in Brazil.
