Max Verstappen News

Simply said, his name is Max, and he lives up to it.

At age 17, Verstappen became the youngest driver in Formula 1 history, and he immediately began pushing the limits of his vehicle, his competition, and the sport itself. The baby-faced Dutchman with a lion’s heart seized the racing team Toro Rosso by the horns, and then the Red Bull.

After scoring points in his Formula One rookie season for Red Bull in Barcelona 2016, the 18-year-old quickly became the sport’s youngest race winner. As expected from a real wheel-to-wheel racer, the acclaim continued to roll in after his incredible run from last to third in Brazil’s grueling wet-track race.

Verstappen’s no-holds-barred approach and tenacious defense have gotten him in trouble with his contemporaries and employers on occasion. The immaturity that once hampered his potential has given way to wisdom, while the brashness and energy that make him a blockbuster talent have remained, and he has continued to rack up victories, culminating in his first Formula One drivers’ title in 2021 after a legendary final-round showdown with Lewis Hamilton.

Having both an F1 driver father in Jos Verstappen and a fast karting mother in Sophie Kumpen, racing is in his blood. Although Verstappen now calls Monaco his home, he is still very close to his family back in the Netherlands. He is also surprisingly timid, despite not being afraid to voice his thoughts.

Since he won the F1 world championship at the young age of 24, the Netherlands have great hopes for the next generation’s brightest star, but with Verstappen, they feel like they have nothing to lose.
