    After a traditional career in karting, Sebastien spent two years in the Formula BMW Championship, starting in 2004, finishing his first season in third position and the second in second position. He also finished second in the World Final of the championship.

    Buemi spent 2006-2007 in European F-3, where he was eleventh in the first season and second in the second. He also competed in the Ultimate Masters of Formula 3 and the Macau Grand Prix.

    In the same year, Buemi competed in the A1GP racing championship, representing the Swiss team.

    2007. Sebastien also took part in the Monaco round of the GP2 series. His debut was a great success, with a fourth place on the grid and a seventh in the race. He then competed in the Asian GP2 Championship, where he finished second, and in the main GP2 series, where he finished sixth.

    In 2009, S. Buemi made his debut for Toro Rosso in Formula One, scoring his first points. This is his third consecutive season with the Swiss team.
