    F1 Driver – Sebastien Bourdais

After competing in a number of series in Europe, Sebastien Bourdais was signed to Arrows F-1 back in 2003, but after the team’s bankruptcy, he was not able to compete. In the end, his greatest success came across the Atlantic. Bourdais won the Champ Car title four times in a row, but after only a few attempts with Toro Rosso, he decided to take on a new challenge and race in Formula One, which had been a dream of his since he was a child.

    Career

He raced sporadically from 1991 to 1994.

He finished 2nd in the 1997 French Formula Renault Championship.

In 1998, he competed in the French Formula 3 championship, where he finished sixth. A year later, he became champion of the series.

In 2000, he made his debut in the Formula 3000 championship, finishing 9th. A year later, the Frenchman scored his first victory and finished 4th in the championship. In 2002, he triumphed in the championship with 3 victories. In the same year, he tested the Arrows F-1 car.

At the start of the 2003 season, he worked as a test driver for the Renault team, but after losing hope of getting a Formula One driver’s seat, he moved across the Atlantic to the Champ Car series.

In his debut season, he scored 3 victories and finished 4th.

Between 2004 and 2007, he won the Champ Car championship four times in a row. 28 wins out of 55 possible in four years!

In 2007 he finished 2nd in the 24 Hours of Champ Car.

In 2008, Sebastien made his debut in Formula One, but was not very successful, as the set-up of the car did not suit his driving style. He was fast enough on several occasions, but his colleague Vettel looked better. This year the team gave the Frenchman another chance.
