    Like everybody else, Paul di Resta began his profession in karting, the place he gained the British JICA Championship in 2001.

    In 2003 and 2004, the Scotsman competed within the British Method Renault Sequence. In his first 12 months he completed seventh within the championship, and in his second 12 months he completed third.

    Like his earlier cousin Dario Franchitti, di Resta was awarded the celebrated BRDC Younger Driver of the 12 months award in 2004.
