    F1 Driver – Jolyon Palmer

    Jolyon Palmer is the son of former F-1 driver Jonathan Palmer. The Briton got into Formula One not only because of his talent, but also because of his father’s financial backing.

    John Palmer started his racing career in karting, then raced in the T Car series, where he won the 2006 Autumn Cup.

    2007 – 2008

    Mr Palmer competed in the Formula Palmer Audi Championship. In 2008, the Briton finished third in the overall standings.

    2009 – 2010

    Mr Palmer competed in the Formula 2 Championship. In 2010, the Briton won 5 victories and was on the podium 10 times. This led to second place in the overall standings.

    2011 – 2014

    J. Palmer competed in the GP2 championship. The Briton slowly improved his results, and in 2014 he won the championship with 4 victories and 12 podium finishes. He also became a test driver for Force India this year.

    In 2015

    Mr Palmer signed a contract with Lotus to become the team’s reserve driver. The Briton drove a Lotus car for 13 Friday practice sessions.

    2016

    After Romain Grosjean left Lotus, Mr Palmer became the team’s main driver.
